So, it's been getting a little busier around here lately, with the advent of piano students. I built it, they came, and now there's four little munchkins in and out of the house every week. Two of them I like a whole lot, and the other two are going to be a challenge. It's tough to be seven and eight years old, and it's tough to concentrate on anything after a long day at school, and it is really tough to not be bored by your piano teacher when your brother is sitting on the couch across the room playing with your Nintendo DS.
Oh, and their favorite band is Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's going to be a great ride.
I had a flute student that was just the opposite. I wanted to make sure she stayed interested in the flute and had some fun. I was going to track down a couple of rock/contemporary songs for her to play along with the more traditional flute pieces. Turns out she listened to classical music for fun. She didn't know any of the bands I mentioned. I could have worked with Red Hot Chili Peppers. :)
